Enabling Leadership is a "Not for Profit" organization that works with 8-16-year-old children from government and low-income private schools in India and Cambodia to instill Lifeskills & Leadership skills through creative and innovative programs using Music (Music Basti), Football (Just For Kicks) and Lego (Build Maya),
20% of the world's youth population is in India (United Nations Development Programme). For over 62% of these children, the government school is the only lifeline. The quality of core education in government schools has improved over the last decade, but there is little opportunity to develop essential life skills. More than 50% of India's school graduates will not have life skills for 21st-century jobs (2019 UNICEF Report). The critical life skills education gap sets these children behind and leaves them unequipped to succeed personally, socially, and professionally.
Enabling Leadership believes that Every Child can be a Leader. Each program of Enabling Leadership is carefully designed to enable children to collaborate, reflect on and connect first-hand experiences and learnings from the classroom or playground with their real lives.
The COVID-19 pandemic makes it all the more essential for these children to develop life skills to deal with the crisis effectively. While our news headlines highlight the medical emergencies and the tragic loss of life, the impact that this pandemic has had on the lives of children is washed away in this tsunami. One complete academic year has passed with almost no or little learning. The impact on the children’s social and emotional development is very worrying. Data is already showing increasing instances of child marriage, child labour, and abuse. For millions of children, this is a time of increased chaos, isolation and fear.

Enabling Leadership works with over 5,000 children in about 125 low-income schools in 8 locations in urban & Rural India and 1 international location in rural Cambodia(Battambang).
