Chris's Fundraiser for Awake

In 2018 I walked through the doors of Awake Ministries a broken man. I just lost my father in a car accident and was addicted. Something had to change fast and it did! What came next was remarkable. Jesus met me where I was in my first week there and my life was forever changed. Through prayer and His word He let me know that he was real and actually loved me. I felt at peace for the very first time in my life. He had taken the desire to use immediately from me and gave me a heart to want to help others. Several months after my graduation He opened the door for me to return to Awake but this time it was different. I was now staff at Awake Ministries and I finally had the opportunity to help others be introduced to the same Jesus that rescued me. In July I celebrated 6 years of sobriety and in November I will celebrate 5 years of leading men out of addiction as the Men’s housing director at Awake Ministries. I finally found purpose in life and it’s only by God’s grace and mercy that I get to lead men through the same program that Jesus saved me in.
