Gus Castillo's Story

I used to be an atheist, but a scientific deduction led me to Christianity. I realized that while knowledge and worldly success can bring a sense of accomplishment, the most fulfilling purpose in life is to love others and make a positive impact on the world. There's no better place to do this than with those who are open to receiving help and support.

I've been involved with The Prisoner's Hope for several reasons, but primarily because I love to help others. There's a humility in accepting growth through the collaboration of others. We have a unique opportunity to plant seeds in fertile soil because many of the people we work with have reached a point in their lives where they've been humbled.

I've had experience mentoring, discipling, coaching, and teaching. The most rewarding aspect of this work is knowing that I'm passing along the truth of self-fulfillment and encouraging others to live their best lives for selfless reasons.

I'm passionate about our mission of reaching out to those who want to improve themselves, especially those who have been labeled by their past mistakes. It's a terrible experience to be "marked" by your past and face the constant challenges to believe in yourself. Many of the people we work with struggle with self-belief and hope for a better future.

At The Prisoner's Hope, we focus on where their identity comes from. The shocking truth is that we all struggle with this concept. We need to build each other up, rather than tear each other down. That's love, forgiveness, and grace.

I'm honored to be part of an organization that is "Transforming Lives Through Grace." Your support will help us continue to provide hope, support, and resources to those who need it most. Thank you for your generosity.
