Meenan of Community - Help Make a Difference

For 35 years, I have had the privilege of working in the Long Beach nonprofit community.  Many of those decades with the wonderful community leaders and members of the Long Beach Gives Steering Committee pictured above and listed below.    

Throughout those years, I have continually been in awe of the individuals working and volunteering with the hundreds of nonprofits that are dedicated and passionate about making life better for others.  Whether at an arts & culture organization or a social service organization working with families in crisis situations, they work with an intensity and drive to make a difference.  I know that the majority do not do this difficult work for the pay, but because they are driven with a passion to bring joy or change for change, regardless of unexpected barriers and hurdles encountered daily.  Which often includes issues around fundraising and financial sustainability.

Long Beach Gives is important to these organization because it helps to raise awareness about their programs and services AND to connect them to potential individual donors.  In this day and age of changing media and all the noise and static in the air, it takes a community collaboration of this size to be loud enough to shine a spotlight on the work of these 270 nonprofits.  That is where we need your assistance to like, share, and donate.
