Raising money to provide tech access to underserved communities in NYC

$28,211

$25,000 goal

Thanks for visiting our donation page, we're now fundraising for the 2021-2022 school year program at this new donation page

The picture above shows Josue De Paz, Co-Founder of First Tech Fund, with his first piece of tech -- a mini talking learning laptop that sparked his interest in learning and tech. He then saw his mom work second and third jobs at night and over the weekend to save up money to provide him with a personal computer for high school, as she saw that it was a way of providing him access to a world of opportunities. He was able to leverage that access into scholarships worth more than $300K, volunteer trips, conferences, and more.

We're hoping to provide at least 50 NYC youth with the technologies to access online learning by the start of the school year, starting in 2020-2021. First Tech Fund Fellows will be invited to be a part of an ongoing group of students across the five NYC boroughs. We hope that  students not only are able to learn in their school setting, but can also hear more about the different opportunities that are available to them and the number of different career paths that they can take. You can’t pursue careers or passions if you don’t know they even exist.  We hope that through this program, they'll see the world of opportunities out there for them.

If you're looking to donate more than $250, please contact josue@firsttechfund.com

Thank you for you time and consideration!

First Tech Fund is dedicated to closing the digital divide by providing low-income and underserved communities with access to technology that allows them to pursue educational, personal development, and career opportunities. With the shift to online learning and remote work, FTF is committed to preparing students for the workforce of tomorrow. Through our program, our FTF Fellows will learn from industry leaders, young professionals, and business owners about what it takes to pursue a career in their respective field while beginning to build their networks.
