Fe Brinkley

Transplant Type:   Liver

What if you were living on borrowed time?

Fe Brinkley is fighting for her life. In mid-December 2021, she became ill almost overnight.  In the course of one week, Fe went from feeling fine, to being hospitalized with liver and renal failure. While doctors are unsure as to the exact cause of her sudden illness, they do know that a liver transplant is critical to her survival.

Fe is thankful for her Husband, Marc, sons, Grayson and Creed, their black lab Scout, family, and friends.  She wishes they did not need to be so concerned about her health but is grateful for their love and support. Marc is the Ranger for a Boy Scout Camp in Northwest Mississippi, and, as a family, they run and care for Camp Currier.

Before her health began to decline, Fe used to cut the grass, run heavy machinery, entertain young scouts, cook for events, and help wherever she was needed, all while serving as a stay-at-home mom for her boys. Fe is used to being the one helping others, but now the tables have turned. She looks forward to the transplant that will allow her to live her life again.  She wants to get back to normal, doing all the simple things that were once a part of her day. More than anything, Fe hopes to spend many more years making memories at Camp Currier and spending time with her loved ones, but right now, she needs your help.

Unfortunately, Fe’s hope for a new life comes at a very high price.

The average liver transplant costs approximately $878,000. And that is only the beginning. Even with insurance, which will cover a portion of the transplant cost, she still faces significant expenses related to the surgery. For the rest of her life, she will need follow-up care and daily anti-rejection medications. Post-transplant medications are extremely expensive, and they are as critical to her survival as the transplant itself.

You can help by making a tax-deductible donation to the National Foundation for Transplants in honor of Fe.

If you'd prefer to send your gift by mail, please send it to the National Foundation for Transplants, 3249 W. Sarazen’s Circle, Suite 100, Memphis, TN 38125.  Please be sure to write "in honor of Fe Brinkley” in the memo line.

Thank you for your generosity!
