Hello!
My name is Siddhant Bhardwaj, and I am an inventor and a Student Advisor to the Board of Directors at the Connecticut Invention Convention (CIC). The CIC is a non-profit organization that has not only changed my life, but the lives of hundreds of thousands of students across Connecticut. It has fundamentally changed who I am as a person, in both my mindset and the way I approach problems.
Now, I want to help the CIC allow other students, especially underserved and historically underrepresented students, to have the same experience that I had.
As an organization, the CIC reaches one in four students across their K-12 career. This past year:
- 34% of CIC inventors identified as inventors of color
- 58% of CIC inventors identified as female
- 33% of CIC inventors came from below-median-income districts
Our latest initiative is a push to expand the recognition, experiences, scholarships, and other resources available to our most earnest inventors. All funds will go directly to students via prizes, experiences, scholarships, and support resources.
This Holiday season, please consider donating or helping us provide experiences such as internships, lab experience, or public speaking to our inventors, or volunteer your time as a judge, and grow the changemakers of tomorrow.
If you have an experience or item that you think would make for a fitting award for next year’s most talented inventors, please let us know!
Thank you for all you do to support us, and Happy Holidays.
Sincerely,
Siddhant
