Why Amped?

In just one decade, Amped has become Louisville’s largest home-grown, Black-led, Black-serving organization. Our Amped family-oriented ecosystem focuses on creating equity in education, technology, and business. 

We are doing the work and making an impact in Our community, positioning ourselves as a staple institution in West Louisville. 

Here are some of our recent accomplishments:

• Amped Music Academy: Provide music/arts education to youth through direct instruction and community outreach

• Amped Technology Workforce Training: Annually deliver technology training to 80 adults in Louisville’s highest-poverty zip codes

• Amped Russell Technology Business Incubator: Support 26 Black and Latinx-owned businesses with year-long professional services and funding support

• Amped Innovation Center: Continue to offer space on West Broadway for arts and equity-focused programming, sustaining our tenant relationships with 
  Jefferson County Public Schools and their Elev8 Student Learning Center, and the University of Louisville’s Health Equity Innovation Hub

• Amped Russell Station Tech and Learning Center: Build a permanent home for our technology training initiatives through a fully-funded capital project
