I'm raising money for the Center for Lay Ministries and their mission to provide services to vulnerable populations in the local community with compassion, dignity, and respect. CLM operates a Food Pantry for Clark County, Indiana residents and the Bliss House Recovery Program for women. As a Board Member, I am passionate about CLM's work in our community. Our goal is to raise $15,000 today. Would you donate to help make a difference for the clients we serve?
The CLM Food Pantry works to reduce food insecurity and has had over 11,000 household visits in 2024. The Food Pantry is open five days a week. On average, CLM's staff and volunteers provided food to 76 households per day in July.
Lately, the Food Pantry has been serving lots of first-time clients. Many clients are struggling to keep up when their expenses are rising. One recent client said he had never been to a food pantry before. A friend told him about us when he admitted he was having trouble paying his bills. That’s why CLM is here! CLM reduces food insecurity by helping neighbors struggling to make ends meet.
In addition, the CLM Bliss House Recovery Program provides a home to women battling substance use disorder. The Bliss House uses Recovery Dynamics curriculum and peer-to-peer recovery specialists to teach residents how to live sober and successful lives. The Bliss House staff and volunteers save lives with the work they do.
One Bliss House alumna said, “I want to thank you for keeping Bliss House open. Bliss House keeps me sober. This place is my home.” Sobriety is fragile. There are so many triggers that can make a person want to take a drink or drug to forget. Bliss House has been providing hope and guidance to women in recovery since 2001. The motto of the Bliss House is: together we can do what we cannot do alone. With your donation, you can help keep the Bliss House open for women like this alumna.
Can I count on you to donate to the Center for Lay Ministries today through Give for Good Louisville? Together we can reduce food insecurity and make sure there is always a Bliss House to come home to.
