Support Dogtown on #Giving Tuesday!

Dogtown is a multi-faceted support system for the artists who call the theatre “home.” Through our in-house programs and our beautifully renovated historic space, we strive to facilitate the growth and progress of artists in our community. Dogtown Dance Theatre supports a diverse network of artists and encourages diversity in the arts while fostering the Richmond community’s appreciation for art and expression in all of its forms.

A variety of low-cost and FREE classes are available every week at Dogtown. Classes offered range from salsa, to hip-hop, to ballet, tap, hooping, contemporary and everything in between! The current class schedule can be found on our website at dogtowndancetheatre.com/classes.

Dogtown hosts a variety of annual events including the Richmond Dance Festival, Mardis Gras RVA,  Dogtown Presenter's Series, and National Dance Day. 

The Richmond Dance Festival brings the world of dance to Richmond through a three-weekend showcase of incredible dance talent from the Richmond area, across the country and around the world. This year, for the first time, Richmond Dance Festival was proud to feature a special Next Generation performance of youth dance talent. 

Mardis Gras RVA is the largest family-friendly Mardis Gras celebration in Richmond. This fun annual event includes a parade, Cajun food, kids' activities, music, dancing and more. 

Dogtown Dance Theatre is a proud host of National Dance Day. Each year in July, Dogtown joins forces with organizations all over the country, encouraging the community to get involved with dance. All day long, Dogtown offers a wide range of FREE, public classes hosted by Dogtown artists.
