Two Weeks Post Treatment
Echo went on his first walk after starting treatment 2 weeks ago! Check out the link to see him enjoying his walk. Two weeks ago, this little man was not even able to stand up on his own or go potty on his own. He will be on antibiotics for 6 more months, doing physical therapy, and will have re-check appointments with his doctor.

'Echo' was transferred to Kindred Souls Foundation's Medically Fragile Program by Benton County K9 Control after he was diagnosed with cutaneous hemangiosarcoma (skin cancer). An incidental finding on Echo's x-rays revealed that he had been shot, likely with a shotgun, sustaining over 50 BB's throughout his body.
Echo is an amazingly smart, friendly, and social dog. Once he arrived to Kindred Souls Foundation, we had his cancerous lesions surgically removed. Echo recovered beautifully!
A week ago, Echo began showing some signs of neurological impairment that steadily became worse. We consulted with our veterinarian who referred us to a neurologist. We learned today, 10/23/17, that Echo needed an MRI and other diagnostics to tell us how to help him. The MRI provided the information needed and Echo was diagnosed with encephalitis (inflammation of the brain).
Echo's history is one of neglect as reported by the ACO who referred him to us. It is evident that he sustained abuse by the multiple BB's throughout his body and head. Despite this, he remains a happy, loving, and friendly senior dog who enjoys his park walks, playing and sleeping with his feline and canine siblings, and visiting with people. Not to mention he is crazy-in-love with his foster family!
Our medical bills total $4,000 for Echo's neurology consult, MRI, blood work, x-rays, anesthesia, fluid therapy, multiple medications, cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) analysis, and hospitalization.
We would be grateful if you would consider making a contribution to his medical bills. Echo has a lot to offer the world and we want to be sure he is given the opportunity to share his love and joy with as many people as he can for as long as he can!
