Serving in Mexico, 2018

Greetings Friends and Family, 

I want to thank you for the many years of support, spiritually and financially alike, to serve the church abroad in their efforts to declare the glories of God's salvation in Christ to their own people. I had the opportunity to serve the brethren in North East India last year, as we were invited back for our third year in a row to teach on a theology of work and business as missions. We continue to pray for our brothers and sisters and hold fast to the promise that God will magnify his name among the nations, including those in North East India.

As you may know, this past November we uprooted our family and moved away from our church family in Los Angeles to help care and serve my aging parents in the Bay Area. Although we are now serving and doing life on mission with a new church family, the opportunity arose this summer to join and partner with our Del Rey Church on a short-term mission trip Mexico to help with translation. 

The overall goal of this trip will be to come alongside several churches and support them as they seek to grow and reach the communities around them.  The team will be partnering with 2 local pastors. The first pastor is engaged in serving the elderly, a vulnerable population in need of holistic care. The team will support the local pastor's ministry that feeds, clothes, provides recreational activities, love, support, and much more to this community. The second pastor has requested the team host and teach a week long seminar on a theology of marriage for the couples in his local church and community. 

The trip will take place from July 29th to Aug 4th and it is my prayer that you will partner with me in the gospel by supporting me in two ways. The first is by praying for the pastors and churches in Mexico, who are faithfully seeking to serve and evangelize their own communities.  We are there for only a week to support what God is already doing among the churches, so pray that their long-term efforts in the gospel-cause would bear much fruit for the glory of God. The second is that you would share your concern for me and my pursuit of Spanish ministry by giving financially. The focus of this trip is on supporting the churches, but it will also serve to supplement my training in Spanish ministry, as I will be teaching, translating and serving in the spanish speaking context. 

Each member of the team is responsible for raising their own money for the trip. In order to be fully funded, I need to raise $800. My prayer is that 8 of you would send a gift of $100 or consider donating what you have decided in your heart to give towards this endeavor. If you are willing to commit to praying for me, please let me know. • Financial need of $800 to be met
• Grace and strength as I prepare for translating and actually translate and preach the entire week in Spanish
• Joy and progress in the faith for the believers in Mexico, along with common grace for the elderly
