$500 goal
I have joined a team of fellow SLPs and graduate students in order to raise money for the American Aphasia Society (AAS). The AAS is a local non-profit that supports people with aphasia, an acquired language disorder. People with aphasia have difficulty communicating, but their intelligence is intact. The AAS's mission is raise awareness of aphasia, educate the nation about aphasia, improve access to resources, provide hope, and better lives.
Stroke is the most common cause of aphasia. Cardiovascular fitness can help contribute to stroke prevention. In order to make an active dedication to raising money for and awareness of aphasia, I have committed to 150 minutes/week of cardiovascular activity for the next month. These are the recommendations set by the American Heart Association to improve overall cardiovascular health.
My team has launched our fundraising campaign with a goal to raise $7000.00. I am seeking donors to pledge money on behalf of my fitness commitment. Every gift counts, so I hope you will consider joining me in supporting this cause.
Thank you so much for your support!
