Giving Tuesday 2017 - Give Children God's Love

On November 29th, we're joining in the national day of generosity #Giving Tuesday. It's a day when you, along with many others, can make a big impact by giving children God's love through Child Evangelism Fellowship.  With your help, we hope to raise $10,000 to show children of Northern New Jersey the love of God. 

Child Evangelism Fellowship is a Bible-centered organization composed of born-again believers whose purpose is to evangelize boys and girls with the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ and to establish (disciple) them in the Word of God and in a local church for Christian living. 

CEF has many different ministries for children, but the primary ones are the Good News Club® and 5-Day Club®.

The Good News Club and 5-Day Club ministries take place in neighborhood settings such as schools, community centers, homes, parks and backyards. These fast-paced, one-hour programs are designed to bring the Gospel of Christ to children on their level in their environment.

During the past year, CEF volunteers have given God's love to boys and girls as 869 North Jersey children have heard the message of salvation in clubs, parties, and fair ministries, and 52 have responded by professing the Lord Jesus as Savior.  You can read Jackson's, Jolene 's and Linda's stories below.

Jackson's* Story

During the first week of Good News Club in Paterson, the lesson was about the Bible--that it was God's Word, that God protected it and that it is true, trustworthy, and tells of God's wonderful plan.  Jackson* was so excited to hear about God’s Word that he asked if he could the hug the Bible--which he did!  He and five other children met with volunteers after the lesson; they had many questions. 

The next week Jackson again met with a volunteer teacher and said that he believed in Jesus as his Savior.  By the third week of club, two boys and three girls at this club indicated that they believe in Jesus. The children are being challenged to pray and read their Bibles every day, and some have told the teachers that they are doing this!

This fall 117 children are enrolled in local Good News Clubs and receive weekly Bible instruction and encouragement from volunteer teachers.

Jolene's* Story

Jolene* seemed very excited about learning more about God and Jesus on the first day of  5-Day Club.  The next day she brought in a CD and asked if she could do a song and “dance” at the beginning of the club.  The CD was the one she had received at last year's 5-Day Club--and she presented the motions to Jesus Loves Me/Amazing Grace, one of the kids' favorite club songs.  What a perfect opening it was for the day!  At the end of the club that day, Jolene accepted Jesus as her Savior.  

This summer 358 children attended 5-Day Clubs.  All heard the message of salvation and were given an opportunity to talk with a volunteer about believing in Jesus as Savior.  Twenty-five were counseled for first-time professions of faith and 16 were provided with assurance of salvation.  All of them received a CD to take home with this year's songs.

 Linda's Story

Linda has been serving as a CEF volunteer for 35 years.  Her love for the Lord and her desire to give children God's love keeps her motivated.  She shares, "When our team arrived for the Easter Party, two of the girls ran up to me, remembering us from the Christmas Party a few months previous.  They wrapped their arms around me and told me how glad they were that we came and how much they missed us.  One of them exclaimed with amazing exuberance, 'I've been talking to Jesus!' The other one said they have been singing 'the song,' and they both started singing Jesus' Love is Sweet & Wonderful.  These precious children were sweet and wonderful, too!"

In addition to our regular club ministries, CEF conducts seasonal themed party evangelistic outreaches, especially at Christmas and Easter.  Last year, 275 children attended 15 parties, and 10 told volunteers they believed in Jesus as Savior for the first time after hearing the Gospel.
