CHEER is hoping to raise a goal of $6,000 for Camp Piney Branch.
As you all know, 2020 and 2021 have been incredibly difficult years. COVID-19 has already done significant damage and the pandemic isn’t over. Children have faced significant challenges, with lockdowns, distance learning, and radical disruptions to their daily lives. Kids simply cannot thrive by relying heavily on Zoom and remote learning.
With summer right around the corner, the CHEER team is looking for ways to provide fun (and safe) opportunities for youth in Long Branch and Takoma Park.
For example, we’re excited to announce that CHEER is getting ready for Camp Piney Branch and we need your help!
Your financial assistance would support a range of fun activities for young people, including pool outings, trips to Wheaton Regional Park, and science activities. Students will have an opportunity to explore the Potomac watershed, understand the life cycle of Maryland birds, examine fauna and more. In addition, your contribution will allow students to go home with supplementary food. Through Camp Piney Branch, students engage with nature and learn – outside of their local communities. This is a special program that CHEER is really excited about. Please consider donating today.
Thanks!
