“BRIDGE SCHOLARS” is a program benefiting recent graduates of Golda Meir High School, a Milwaukee Public Schools college prep school. Encouraged by conversations at Bridge the Divide gatherings in Ozaukee County, the program was started in 2020 and is now helping eight students, called “Scholars.” These young people are students at six universities and a technical school. Each Scholar receives a $1200 grant per semester for four years to spend on needs not covered by most other scholarships, for instance: books, computers, transportation, and food. The program is unique in that the steering committee and a few supporters stay in touch with the Scholars, offering encouragement, providing enrichment activities, and linking them to others with experience in their chosen field.
THANK YOU for partnering with us and making a positive difference in the lives of these outstanding young adults. Questions may be directed to Judy Schwengel at jjschwengel@aol.com.
