When school dismisses on Friday, many children face the weekend without enough to eat. In New Albany Floyd County Schools, 30% of pre-K through 6th grade students would experience food insecurity without the support of Blessings in a Backpack Floyd County.
As an official partner, the NAFC Education Foundation helps ensure that children who rely on free and reduced lunch during the week don’t go hungry when school is closed.
Program Highlights:
Serves 2,000+ students each week
Provides food at all 12 NAFC elementary and middle schools (pre-K–6th grade)
Operates as a completely self-funded program
100% of donations go directly toward purchasing food
Your support helps fill backpacks with meals every Friday, giving children the security of knowing they will have enough to eat until school starts again.
