A Testament to Tradition and Resilience since 1993

Support The Ballethnic Way on the occasion of Ballethnic's 30th Anniversary of Urban Nutcracker.  We are asking you to honor each year since it's debut in 1993 with a $1 donation ($30).  Your $30 donation directly supports the Black and Brown Ballerinas initiative and young male dance training program, the Danseur Development Project that make Urban Nutcracker possible.  This year, Ballethnic returns to Martin Luther King, Jr International Chapel, Morehouse College in celebration of the debut of the 1993 production.

With your Support:

We celebrate three decades of battling inequities in major ballet productions.  In this holiday tradition, Urban Nutcracker, our professional company dancers work our academy students, community members and rising local and national talent to showcase cultural pride, self-confidence, and dedication to thousands of patrons around the globe.

Ballethnic's dedication to providing professional opportunities for Black artists offers dancers of all levels of experience the chance to see themselves celebrated in the forefront, disrupting common practices of casting people of color in background roles.  Young dancers progress from small roles like baby dolls and toy soldiers to lead roles like Brown Sugar, Chocolatier and The Nutcracker.

Ballethnic makes ballet and professional dance training accessible to underserved communities   Producing stories and ballets of representation and cultural relevance has been its trademark since its founding in 1990.

In 2023, we continue a legacy of excellence and empowerment with a firm commitment to our community. This year we plan to move forward in a more powerful and innovative way, The Ballethnic Way.

In 2024, The City of East Point will recognize the resilience of Ballethnic Way with the official renaming of Cheney Street to Ballethnic Way, building a bridge to the future of Ballethnic.

Help support our future by contributing to #BallethnicWay at Ballethnic.org.
