The Cooperative Fund of New England (CFNE) and the Neighboring Food Co-op Association (NFCA) invite you to make a tax deductible charitable contribution to support the development of the Amherst Community Co-op, in Amherst, MA!
Amherst Community Co-op is a start-up food co-op that will be a worker- and consumer-owned grocery store governed according to democratic and inclusive principles, providing wholesome, affordable, and locally-produced foods that reflect the diversity of our community.
We are currently in the organizing stage of our start-up co-op. At the moment we are raising funds for our market feasibility study and financial pro-forma, to be conducted by CDS Consulting Co-op, which will help us determine what size market and what location will make the most sense for our community's food co-op. April of 2014 marked the start of our member-ownership campaign. We have raised a total of $5,000 to put towards the cost of consulting work, putting us one third of the way to our goal of $16,500. Help us reach that goal by contributing toward the remainder of $11,500 today!
As soon as we reach our fundraising goal (as well as our member-owner goal of 300) we can move forward with this important and exciting step of our process. If you'd like to see a food co-op in Amherst, now's the time to show your support!
You can support this effort and receive a charitable deduction by donating online through the Cooperative Fund of New England (CFNE). This effort is part of a collaboration between CFNE and the Neighboring Food Co-op Association (NFCA) to build a more just, sustainable and resilient food system in our region. With your help, we are growing the co-operative economy, together. We invite you to stay involved by visiting our websites and finding us on Facebook.
