Update #1 Recognizing Other Donors

Update posted 3 months ago

Hello All! We wanted to recognize other donors who have dedicated themselves to caring for our Coalinga Kitten Family and there extended family still out in Coalinga. These donors were the first to respond to the urgent need of care and support for these furry felines and so their donations couldn't be captured the same way. As you'll see below, some of the donors also provide donations to the Mother cat and other family cats in the cat colony. These donations went directly to supporting those cats stay healthy out in there in Coalinga so the can remain in their colony.

Coalinga Kitten Donations

Camarillo and Barrera Families - Donated Time and Home to Foster kittens and provided medical care, support, and vet attention.

Coalinga Mother and Family Cats

Patricia Gonzalez - Donated $50 for flea medications.

Ana Patiño - Donated $10 for flea medications.

Minnie Ferguson and family - Donated $150 for food, care supplies, and flea medications.

Anonymous UCLA Student - Donated $40 for quality dry food.

Thank you so much to all donors so far! we greatly appreciate all the support given thus far.

Finding 5 Kittens

At Anawakalmekak, our Vet Club students and staff are dedicated to supporting our animal relatives in having the best lives possible. through educating our students and community, we primarily take care of domesticated animal companion, though we also educate our students on a variety of animal species and their care needs.

As part of our dedication to stewarding our animal relatives, when there are animals in needs, we leverage our community to support them. Thus, when Minnie Ferguson came across a group of 7 sick kittens and their mother behind a dumpster, the she and the Vet Club rallied to support them. Señor Julio, a neighbor who had been feeding and taking care of the cats before the litter was born, shared with Ms. Ferguson that he was concerned that he couldn't afford to pay for the kittens medical treatment and Ms. Ferguson offered to support.

Ms. Ferguson, alongside members of Vet Club leadership, Ms. Ferguson and team spent several days returning to the area to capture as many of the kittens to help them get medical care. The team was able to capture 5 kittens, and when they were getting ready to return, Señor Julio told Ms. Ferguson a cat T&R organization serendipitously stumbled upon the cats and was able to support all the other cats.

Now, AIUP's Vet Club is currently fostering the 5 kittens and are in need of financial support to get them with food, medical care, and other needs while we find them a home. Vet Club is asking for $25 dollar donations to help get these wonderful kitties ready for adopting, though any amount you can donate helps. If you know anyone looking to adopt one of the kitties, you can also email jcamarillo@dignidad.org for more information.
