The most challenging issue Veterans face is reintegrating back into civilian life. This is increasingly hard with combat Veterans that have witnessed the brutal environments of war. We face issues such as the sense of not having a purpose, the lack of being on a team and having that camaraderie. Our mission is to bring Veterans out of their element and introduce them to the off-road family for fun and relaxation, which helps make them feel like a part of something again. This is what we call Adrenaline Therapy, and in doing so, our goal is to help eliminate the 22 A DAY epidemic of Veteran suicide.
Outlaw Desert Racing is a 501(c)3 non-profit located in the Southwest. Adrenaline Therapy is a program being implemented where we place the military or first responder (active or Veteran) into an off-road desert race vehicle as a navigator to give them an adrenaline rush and become a team member with a sense of purpose again. We take them out of their element and show them that there is more to life and there are people who care. During our day in the desert, we have food, drinks and plenty of adrenaline along with a no pressure environment for the individuals to relax and open-up and we are there to listen if they are feeling compelled to talk about their issues. We currently have race teams that will also place the Veteran in their car during a sanctioned race.
The second part of Adrenaline Therapy is to bring Veterans to races and connect them with racing teams that need help in the pits and or willing to provide a seat for the Veteran in the car during the race. This brings a sense of belonging on a team again for the Veteran and be a part of a fast-paced environment.
We also work hand in hand with the Forward Flag Foundation in raising suicide awareness. Forward Flag has many Veteran programs for reintegration and suicide prevention. They provide our events with the Bunker trailer serving coffee and providing information material about suicide prevention. We provide a day in the desert with their clients who successfully complete court appointed therapy and or just want to go out and experience the adrenaline that off-roading provides.
Our goal is to raise money to build two complete simulator trailers. These trailers would house six racing simulators each and an off-road desert car This would allow us to increase our reach to a VA hospital and other organizations, which would allow Veterans who are unable to get into a real off-road car due to a physical limitation, the ability to experience the thrill of off-roading by sitting in the seat and getting that racing thrill. We would also be able to attend large state side races such as (Best in the Desert) BITD, Mint 400, Parker etc. with the trailers to raise awareness of Veteran suicide.
Our tentative 2021 schedule-
- Stand for the Flag Motorsports Spectacular, Haskell Texas April 24-25, 2021

The funding is to build two complete Adrenaline Therapy trailers (with trucks) for this project. The funds will cover trucks, trailers, wraps for all vehicles, racing simulators (two simulators in each trailer will be wheelchair accessible with hand controls programmed into the simulator steering wheels), generators, IT equipment, video equipment for live streaming, event tents, awnings for trailers, merchandise for further fund raising and PTSD/suicide awareness information to hand out at events.
