Abriga a un venezolano

El Páramo de Berlín está entre Cúcuta, frontera con Venezuela, y Bucaramanga, en la ruta hacia Bogotá. Los venezolanos están cruzando a pie todo este tramo que tiene una altura entre 2.800 y 4.290 metros sobre el nivel del mar.  En total son 195 kilómetros de trayecto. La hipotermia y el mal de altura afectan a los caminantes venezolanos. 

Lamentablemente cada vez son más venezolanos que huyen de la crisis humanitaria que hay en nuestro país. Aquellos venezolanos que no tienen dinero para un pasaje en autobús guardan sus ahorros y se van a pie esperando llegar a Bogotá, Quito, Lima o Santiago de Chile.

Para llegar a su destino final, tienen que vencer el primer obstáculo: el Páramo de Berlín, en donde decenas de venezolanos han perdido la vida por las condiciones extremas con las que cruzan este trayecto. 

Por esta razón creamos, en alianza con la ONG Acción Humanitaria por Venezuela, la campaña "Abriga a un venezolano", que busca recolectar chaquetas, guantes, gorros y bufandas para los caminantes venezolanos que cruzan a pie El Páramo de Berlín.

Unfortunately, more and more Venezuelans are fleeing the humanitarian crisis in our country. Those Venezuelans who do not have money for a bus ticket save the little money they have and travel on foot, hoping to get to Bogotá, Quito, Lima or Santiago de Chile.

To reach their final destination, they have to overcome an important obstacle: El Páramo de Berlín; a path of travel from Cúcuta (borderline city with Venezuela) to Bogotá. Venezuelans are crossing on foot this entire 195 km stretch, which has a height between 2,800 and 4,290 meters above sea level. Due to dire weather conditions, Venezuelans are being affected with hypothermia and altitude sickness. Some don’t survive and dozens have already lost their lives. 

For this reason, the NGO Acción Humanitaria por Venezuela, created the "Hug a Venezuelan Migrant" campaign, which seeks to collect jackets, gloves, hats and scarves for Venezuelan walkers crossing El Páramo de Berlín.
