This holiday season, KiDS NEED MoRE invites you to share the magic of the holidays with the Ashwood family, who are navigating through difficult times with hope and strength. Elara Ashwood, a loving single mother, has worked tirelessly to give her daughter, Lyra, the best life possible. Despite facing hardships, including food insecurity and housing challenges, their bond is unbreakable, and your generosity can bring them the holiday joy they so deeply deserve.

Lyra's Profile:

• Lyra (4 years old): Lyra is a bright and imaginative little girl who loves to play and dream big. She’s particularly fond of Disney movies, especially Wish, and anything that involves her beloved Disney princesses. Lyra loves to dress up, pretending to be a princess, doctor, or teacher. She’s also a huge fan of Bluey, Inside Out, and Minnie and Mickey Mouse. Her wish list includes a cash register, dolls, and accessories for her dolls, as she enjoys taking care of them. Lyra is also excited about educational toys to help her as she gets ready for kindergarten. She wears size 4/5T for clothing and size 10C shoes.

Emotional Connection:

Elara and Lyra have been through many struggles, including escaping a difficult living situation and rebuilding their lives. As a single mother, Elara has worked full time to support her daughter, but it hasn’t been easy, especially with the challenges of food insecurity and lack of permanent housing. Despite it all, Elara has given Lyra the gift of love, hope, and a belief in magic, especially during the holiday season. This will be Lyra’s third year participating in the Holiday Cheer Bus, and it’s a tradition that fills her heart with wonder.
