Lilly and Lucy's Heart-to-Heart

$14,765

raised by 203 people

Lilly and Lucy were born in November, 2022.  When their breeder’s veterinarian detected significant heart murmurs, the Newfoundland Club of America Rescue team in the area was contacted for help. All agreed that Lilly and Lucy should enter NCA Rescue foster care for additional testing and possible heart surgeries.

Echocardiograms and chest x-rays Ohio State University confirmed that Lilly and Lucy were born with severe pulmonary valve stenosis - an abnormal narrowing in the outflow path of blood from the right ventricle to the pulmonary artery and lungs and can cause sudden death.

Lilly and Lucy are scheduled for the surgery known as balloon valvuloplasty* to dilate the pulmonary valve opening and improve cardiac function before the onset of clinical signs.

These surgeries, testing and after care will total over $16,000.00.

Donations to the NCA Rescue Fund will support these surgeries and care for Lilly and Lucy.

Thank YOU!
