Volunteer Montgomery's GiveLocalNRV 24 Fundraiser

Every year, The Community Foundation of the New River Valley brings together nonprofits, donors, volunteers, and local businesses to support our community.  The signature event for this initiative is the annual GiveLocalNRV Day.  This year, you can choose to support Volunteer Montgomery by giving a donation of $5 or more!  Early giving begins on June 1 and the giving day itself is noon to noon June 26-27.

At Volunteer Montgomery, we use our skills, time, and effort to support and appreciate special populations such as senior citizens, veterans, and first responders within Montgomery County.  All funds collected on GiveLocalNRV Day will go towards one of our numerous programs we spearhead throughout the year to support community members in need.

Examples of programs administered by Volunteer Montgomery include:

Supplies for Homebound Seniors program, where basic household and hygiene items are delivered to homebound seniors identified by Radford-Fairlawn Daily Bread and the local Area Agency on Aging.  

Patriot Day baskets with snacks delivered to honor our local first responders.

Flowers for Vets, where we honor our local veterans by creating and delivering displays of fresh flowers to them as a small token of gratitude for their service.

Rest assured knowing that a donation to Volunteer Montgomery is one that will be funneled directly back into the community to support those in need.
