Save the Chimps
Decades of Care, A Lifetime of Compassion
Join us in supporting our beloved 96 elderly chimpanzees who deserve a safe and loving sanctuary in their golden years. Our fundraising campaign aims to provide essential care, nutrition, and enrichment for these incredible beings who have spent their lives facing challenges.
Save the Chimps is one of the largest chimpanzee sanctuaries in the world which is located in Fort Pierce, Florida. These elderly chimps have endured many hardships, from medical issues secondary to abuse, to being rescued from unsafe environments including research laboratories and entertainment industries. They rely on Save the Chimps to ensure they receive the comfort and care they need to thrive in a peaceful sanctuary. Your contributions will help cover veterinary expenses, fresh and healthy food, habitat maintenance, behavioral care and enrichment activities that keep them happy and engaged.
FRIENDS AND FAMILY:
As some of you already know, I recently started volunteering for Save the Chimps. I’m very excited to be able to help in any way to give them the opportunity to live out the rest of their lives in a better, healthier, happier environment and to get the care, love and environment they deserve. It is an amazing experience to see them roaming their islands in a naturalistic habitat, playing, bonding with each other, grooming one other, and enjoying life! |
ABOUT THE INITIATIVE:
Giving Day for Apes is a global initiative dedicated to supporting accredited sanctuaries and rescue centers. The worldwide fundraiser is happening October 8th but any and all contributions are crucial. Nearly half the residents are now considered elderly so geriatric care has become a major focus.
Together, we can make a significant impact and give these elderly chimpanzees the dignified life they deserve. Thank you for your support!
In this heartwarming video, we take you inside our chimpanzee rescue sanctuary, where hope and healing come together for these remarkable beings. Witness the inspiring stories of elderly and at-risk chimpanzees who have found refuge after facing neglect and hardship.
Meet my adopted chimp, Linda the 2nd!
Linda the 2nd was born in the wild in 1974 and captured as an infant for primate research. In 1976, she was purchased by the Coulston Foundation. After years in the lab, she was rescued by Save the Chimps and became part of Bobby’s group. In 2010, she moved to Florida, where she enjoys fresh produce, exploring her island, and spending time with her best friend, Chandra. She is mellow, sweet, and loves relaxing in a hammock. |
