Kenkojuku Karate Scholarship Program

In light of recent vandalism to the Kenkojuku Karate dojo, there has been an amazing outpouring of support from neighbors, community and the Borough of Collingswood. Many believe this vandalism was directed at Kenkojuku Karate because of the proud support it shows for the LGBTQ+ community. Even if this is not why we were targeted, we intend to do what we do well and that is fight to protect people; in this case specifically the LGBTQ+ community.  Friends have wanted to send us money to pay for the damage, and although we greatly appreciate the sentiment, your generosity, and support, we want to redirect those gifts into a Kenkojuku Karate Scholarship Program to help with this fight. 

Kenkojuku Karate of South Jersey, LLC has partnered with Enter the Johnsons 501(c)(3) (aka ETJ) whose mission is to provide "martial arts and mentoring for our kids who need it the most." ETJ will accept funds as dedicated gifts to support individuals who may lack the financial means for martial arts training. These funds will be allocated as scholarships to benefit LGBTQ+ youth, minority, and community members in need.

This scholarship program will provide a member (or members) of our community, most in need, of an amazing opportunity to learn a practice built on charter development, hard work, discipline, respect and to always refrain from violent behavior.
