Some of our close friends and our family know that over the last six months our family has been seeking information and praying hard about growing our family through foster or adoption. Many of you may not be aware that Chris was adopted by a non-biological Great-Grandmother at the age of five. From the moment we talked about having children, foster and adoption has always been something we felt called to.
Our life has taken some pretty dramatic turns over the last decade, and we wondered if it was really part of the path God had planned for our family. One thing is true, God has never led us to anything that He couldn't get us through. Whether it was healing for serious health issues for our children (both of which have miraculously been completely healed), or combat deployments, our prayers have been more than answered, and this is all part of God's plan for us. That brings us to the present. We are opening our home and hearts to a child for the Christmas holiday, one month to be exact, from an orphanage in Eastern Europe. He is 8 years old, and we are so happy we will be able to give him respite from life in an orphanage, and the love of a family. These children endure so much more than any child should ever have to, and we are doing just a small part to show him the love of family.
We have a short amount of time (by December 7th to be exact!) to raise the money needed for his travel to and from Texas! We are asking, with gratitude, that if it is in your heart to help make this trip a reality, that you consider donating to this orphan boy, so that he may have a Christmas filled with the love of Jesus and family. Your donation is tax deductible, and goes directly to his travel costs through the charity bringing him to Texas.
I will have a closed Facebook group for those who are interested to follow along our journey.
As Jesus said " Whoever receives one such child in my name receives me" Matthew 18:5
We hope you have a blessed Thanksgiving and Christmas!
Love,
Chris and Erin
