Giving Tuesday 2023

For nearly 60 years, NLSP has provided free civil legal services to low-income residents of the District of Columbia. Our assistance preserves safe and affordable shelter, stabilizes family relationships, protects victims of domestic violence, secures access to healthcare and public benefits, and reduces barriers to employment. As we protect fundamental rights for individuals and families, we also seek opportunities to achieve broader change and pathways out of poverty for many. 

A hallmark of our work is that we constantly find new ways to connect with the community. For example, with more than nine percent of DC veterans experiencing poverty, NLSP recently relaunched its program providing legal services to DC veterans. In December, NLSP will hold its first monthly clinic to connect with veterans who need legal services in key areas, including benefits, housing, and criminal record sealing. 

We aid more than 5,000 of our DC neighbors annually, yet for every client we assist, there are others we lack the resources to help. Please donate this Tuesday to support our most vulnerable DC residents.
