Giving Tuesday for Rian Immigrant Center!

I am excited to invite you to make a positive impact in our local communities by showing your support for Rian Immigrant Center. I have worked at Rian for 6 months and have constantly been in awe of the tangible impact we have been able to have on the lives of immigrant and refugee families in our community. Our approach of internal and external partnerships empower immigrants holistically -- from advocacy, education, legal services, assistance with basic necessities, and mental health and wellbeing, we support the whole human.

Our #givingtuesday goal is to raise at least $7,000 through small donations through social media fundraising -- and a generous donor is matching contributions raised through these efforts! Even if it is just $5, every penny helps us meet our goal of expanding both the depth of services we offer and the number of folks we can serve. Rian empowers immigrant families on the path to opportunity, safety, and a better future for all. We do this by providing immigration legal services, resource and support services, education programs, and advocating for just and humane immigration policies. We build community through our inclusion and civic engagement initiatives, and lead an international exchange program for recent graduates. We are working toward a society where all are welcomed and valued and enjoy equal opportunities and protections.

Each year, we provide services to over 3,500 immigrants and refugees from more than 120 countries offering the support they need to build successful lives. Building on our roots of welcoming others and social justice, we help newcomers find community, and we stand up for immigration policies that are humane and just. America is a nation of immigrants, and despite the current political climate, we are proud to continue the tradition of welcoming immigrants to this country and working together to create a better future for all. 

Our programs consist of:

Immigration Legal Services 

Our attorneys provide legal advice and full case representation that help over 2,000 low-income and underserved immigrants annually as they gain legal status and reunite with their families, increasing the potential for stability and success.

Resource and Support Services

Our social workers provide therapeutic counseling for mental health needs such as trauma, stress, anxiety, and depression; and we offer case management for 300 individuals every year. We offer free health clinics, and workshops designed to reduce stress and build resilience.

Education and Career Advancement Services 

Our instructors empower immigrants working to build financially stable, productive lives so they may break the cycle of poverty for themselves and their children. Our adult education services empower 150 students each year and include English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL), technology and computer literacy classes, and career advancement support and opportunities.
