The Windsor Vermont Historical Association (WVHA) collects, catalogs, preserves, and interprets documents and artifacts produced in, used in, and related to the history of Windsor. Our collections live in an office the town generously provides at town hall. We are Windsor Historical Society, founded in 1980, now operating as WVHA.
WVHA is an all-volunteer, 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. We sponsor walking tours and talks and work with other organizations—Historic Windsor, the Vermont Precision Museum, Vermont Historical Society, the state-operated Constitution House, and other historical groups in our region—to explore the town’s past and its historical connections to other places. We research and mount exhibitions at the Windsor Welcome Center and elsewhere. If we can, we answer queries and conduct research on request about the town’s past people, business, industries, and buildings. We envision someday having a larger space or a building of our own where we can hold programs, stage exhibitions, and collect and safely preserve artifacts that we cannot acquire or accept now for lack of space. We need support for all of these activities. Every year we receive funds from the town of Windsor, but we need members to join us in the work we do, strengthen our foundation, and extend our reach throughout the town. As a member you’ll receive a newsletter twice a year, reduced fees for research we conduct, reduced admission to programs for which we must charge, and, we hope, satisfaction in knowing that you are helping to keep Windsor’s history alive and vital.
