Advance care for Black mamas

Through my work at the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, I've learned about the Betsey, Lucy and Anarcha Days of Recognition, which acknowledge three enslaved women who endured excruciating experiments by a doctor who is credited with making advancements in gynecology. The events on these days of recognition help draw attention to the history of racism in medicine, which still harms Black families today. The Black Mamas Matter Alliance is leading the way in shifting the culture for Black maternal health, rights and justice.
