We needed a place to throw our kids 1st & 3rd birthday party. Large enough for both our families and friends to join us. We lived out of town at the time. Someone recommended Louisville Nature Center. I'd never heard of it. It ended up being the perfect spot.
Fast forward to a few years later and we'd moved back to Louisville.
We hike at LNC often. It was the perfect distance hike for the kids and with it's convenient location in the middle of the city, it was never hard to get to.
Now a decade later, I am on the board and could not be prouder of how much this little gem has grown. It's outreach has far exceeded what I could have imagined when I first found out about it.
LNC has a forest preschool that has a waiting list larger than it's class size. It hosts so many field trips it has to turn some away. It has remodeled the main space and now we can host beautiful weddings/ parties and corporate events.
We hope you'd consider helping us continue to grow and be stewards for our environment!
Please support my fundraiser for theLouisville Nature Center and help shape the future of conservation.
The Louisville Nature Center (LNC) was founded in 1964 with a mission to promote and inspire environmental stewardship and to be a catalyst for conservation through environmental education and connection to nature for every person. Their vision is a community where everyone is inspired to be stewards of the natural world.
In addition to maintaining and restoring 80 acres of urban forest, LNC works to teach the public about sustainability, nature, and environmental conservation. LNC work with people from all over Greater Louisville, including 4,500 school-age youth each year via camps, field trips, family programs, the Cultural Pass, and our Swallowtail Forest School, urban Louisville’s first nature preschool.
After 60 years, LNC remains a cornerstone of Louisville's conservation efforts, and their work is crucial for the prosperity of our community and the education of the next generation of environmental stewards.
As the city of Louisville continues to grow and has the fastest-growing urban heat island affect in the country, LNC needs a needs a high-quality nature center. They are prepared to cement their role as the hub of environmental education in Louisville now and in the future.
Please help me in supporting Louisville Nature Center as they embark on their 60th year and create a new and exciting nature center that will last for generations to come.
