This heightened political environment wherein LGBTQIA2S+ lives are being threatened through systemic and interpersonal acts of violence must be met with meaningful investment in the needs of LGBTQIA2S+ people.  Black & Pink National is uniquely positioned to mobilize against violent anti-LGBTQ attacks and address the needs of our systems-impacted LGBTQIA2S+ community. Investment in our organization is a powerful investment in the lives and futures of systems impacted by trans and queer people - As an investment in securing their basic needs creates a strong foundation for our members to build safer, healthier lives.

Black & Pink National’s programming is interlocked - All of our programs build upon each other, spanning resources like housing, workforce development, and healthcare access. This multipronged approach allows us to knock down the oppressive barriers our members navigate.

We are up against massive funding barriers as a Black Trans and Queer led organization based in the Midwest which serves the people we do, off of a fraction of the funding that white cishet-led organizations receive.

As an organization that does not have access to the same resources and support that many other service organizations do, we have felt the economic impacts of COVID-19, the rising economic recession, and donation fatigue more acutely than many of our peers. We are up against so many barriers that do not want us to succeed, and we need meaningful investment in order to knock those barriers down.
