ZZ is 6 weeks into rescue and 4 surgeries later! It has been wild ride!

This tiny 17-lb, 2-year old girl was surrendered to us by a breeder. ZZ came in absolute deplorable condition, emaciated, flea ridden with a HUGE abscess on her face.

She immediately underwent surgery to probe and flush the abscess and started a round of antibiotics. The abscess came back within days. She underwent surgery again, this time with a drain placed and more antibiotics. A week later, the drain was removed and she was spayed. She was unable to be spayed on previous surgeries due to a high white blood count. One week later, the abscess cam back with a vengeance and ....exploded!

Now we know something was festering deep in there but it was too close to the jugular. Our vet suspected a foxtail and stated she would need an MRI and a specialized and skilled surgeon to pull this off.

So off we went to Smart Approach Veterinary Services at their new facility Sevilla Veterinary Hospital in Santa Monica. Dr. P has some mad surgical skills and OF COURSE HE GOT IT! It was a nasty single foxtail very deep in ZZ's face/neck area!

ZZ's bills alone have exceeded over $4,000 in just a few weeks. We are running at a huge deficit and NEED FINANCIAL HELP to help us keep up the good fight.
