Valley Oak SPCA, like most non-profits and local businesses, has faced never-before seen hurdles and restrictions due to the global pandemic. Initially when lock downs began we had a surge of Foster Hero’s and Adopters step up to welcome homeless pets into their families. We were grateful for the amazing response. At the start of 2021 the number of adoptions began to drastically decrease, while the number of abandoned and abused animals needing help steadily rose.

Throughout 2022 owned pets are being surrendered due to loss of jobs, homes, and relocation, many of these pets are senior dogs and cats. Litters of puppies, many orphaned, are being abandoned in orchards & rural areas. Many sick, orphaned kittens are being dumped in boxes at parks, dumpsters, and at our gate.

We focus on helping local municipal shelters to help prevent animals from being euthanized; the majority of animals we pull are major medical cases. This includes, positive parvo pups, pets with broken limbs, puppies and kittens with severe burns, skin conditions, neglect, and much more.

Animals continue to flood in but adoptions are at the lowest we have ever seen. Without the support of our community we cannot continue to help these pets.

Your donation is tax deductible and goes directly to our mission of saving lives. Your voice and support matters.

Please consider setting up a recurring monthly donation through our website vospca.org/donate.
