Where History Lives!

The Historical Society of Long Beach is a part of my personal journey and history. This photo was taken on December 7th, 2016 at the opening of our Long Beach Remembers Pearl Harbor exhibition. At the time I was president of the board of directors, Brandon was working at his first job as an archivist, and Dave, as always, was our staunch supporter. I am now the past president and Brandon is the board vice president. A family affair.

Over the years I have witnessed the growth of this organization through some challenging times.  Our mission remains constant; to preserve, protect and promote the history of our city.  Through our exhibitions, programs, Historical Cemetery Tour, oral histories, collections, archival work and more, we fulfill our mission. HSLB strives to reflect the diversity, cultural relevance and stories that are our history, and that illustrate who we are today.
