I’m Bob Clark, Co-CEO for Clark Pacific, a design-build manufacturer of prefabricated and modular building systems. As a past chairperson for the American Heart Association’s Heart Walk in Sacramento, I have chosen the AHA as my charity.
Seventeen years ago, I experienced a heart attack while running in my neighborhood. Quick action by a neighbor (who happened to be a doctor) using proper CPR efforts saved my life.
The nation’s No. 1 and No. 5 causes of death are cardiovascular disease and stroke. The American Heart Association funds more research than any US organization except the federal government. Research, public health and professional education and training are some of the areas that are impacted by a donated dollar. AHA’s goal is to advance cardiovascular health for all, including identifying and removing barriers to health care access and quality.
