More than just presents: The Family Christmas Project is about giving youth hope and a home for Christmas.

Since 1997, The Coffee Oasis has offered hope and opportunity to youth ages 13-25 in Washington state. Thousands of youth have found safety, healing, and a home through The Coffee Oasis Youth Programs. 144 youth accessed shelter and housing through The Coffee Oasis in 2023. 

For many of our youth, Thanksgiving and Christmas are two reminders every year that they have fallen through the cracks—that they have been lost and forgotten.

We all long for the experience of walking into a room and feeling wanted—the feeling of being home. Together, we can make this experience possible for hundreds of youth. We call it: The Family Christmas Project. 

Each year, hundreds of youth come to Christmas parties held by The Coffee Oasis. They come to share dinner, sing Christmas songs, hear the Christmas story, and open gifts. They come for the same reason you would go home—to be with family for Christmas.

For many of our youth, this is their only Christmas celebration.

One youth shared, "I really want to thank you and The Coffee Oasis for working with me and not giving up on me through the difficult times. I need you guys to know how much the gift you guys gave me for Christmas helped me and my family this holiday."

The Coffee Oasis is a Christian non-profit organization that exists to create pathways of opportunity for youth to be restored in heart, soul, mind, and body. We believe youth are the future of our community, but many are hurting, homeless, and hindered from living their full potential. The Coffee Oasis youth programs offer a place for the community to invest in their future—the youth. We do this through creating safe shared spaces, mentorship, street and school outreach, goal setting, job training, shelter, and crisis services. The only way for our mission to succeed is through the support of the entire community—intentional intergenerational and cross-cultural investment. We accomplish this mission through a sustainable and successful coffee business. The cafés offer a “third place” for the community to gather and buy products with the added value of all profits returning to create opportunities for youth.
