Sea Turtle Inc

Sea Turtle, Inc. is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit funded solely by donations, giftshop, and admission sales. Our mission is threefold: to rehabilitate injured sea turtles for return to the wild, to educate the public about endangered sea turtles and their marine environment, and assist in conservation efforts to help their populations recover.

 Sea Turtle, Inc. plays an important role in the conservation and recovery of the five endangered sea turtles in the Gulf of Mexico. Since 1977, Sea Turtle, Inc. has treated thousands of injured turtles and released tens of thousands of hatchlings into the sea. We educate over 250,000 tourists and over 15,000 schoolchildren each year about sea turtles, their importance in marine ecosystems, and what each of us can do to help them survive. Education helps promote the protection of these endangered species and spreads awareness about the ocean and marine ecosystem health. 

All this growth is great news for the population recovery of endangered sea turtles in the Gulf of Mexico and for fulfilling our mission to educate as many people as possible about how important sea turtles are for a healthy marine ecosystem.
