Nu Deco Ensemble

Nu Deco Ensemble is Miami's 21st-century orchestra with a mission to create transformative musical experiences which inspire and connect by building a collaborative, inclusive and sustainable community of artists, students, and audiences. 

As a flexible and innovative hybrid orchestra, Nu Deco Ensemble’s artistic vision is to create the ultimate canvas for elevation, transformation, and connection through music.

Here are a few initiatives we're working on in our tenth anniversary season!

• Live and streamed performances from the Colony Theatre, Miami Beach Bandshell, and Adrienne Arsht Center featuring classical works by Samuel Barber, Stravinsky, Vivaldi, Leonard Bernstein, and Arturo Márquez; symphonic reimaginations of the music of Ray Charles, Chaka Khan, Prince, Pharrell Williams, and more; original works composed by members of the ensemble; and special collaborations with Alfredo Rodríguez, Ledisi, Betty Who, Kevin Day, PJ Morton, and Jennifer Frautschi.
• The expansion of Nu Deco NXT to include not only a youth ensemble fostering the holistic growth of Miami's young musicians, but also continuing education & career development opportunities to give young artists the tools and experiences they need to lead, create, and innovate from school to college and beyond.
• The launch of multi-sensory, immersive programming that will integrate new and emerging technologies, changing the landscape for live orchestral programming forever.
• The continuation of Nu Deco Access, a community outreach program that offers complimentary tickets, transportation, and pre-concert talks to Miami-Dade County Public School teachers and under-resourced community members through partnerships with over 30 local organizations. 
• Live and streamed thematic education concerts from the Arsht Center that fulfill Florida and National Music Standards and reach 20,000+ Miami-Dade County Public School K-12 students annually.
• The continuation of Nu Deco's series of performances at The Citadel, Nu Deco Lounge, which will include three weekends of back-to-back performances, each highlighting a distinct musical or artistic genre.
• Digital releases across all streaming platforms, including collaborations with artists such as Miguel Atwood-Ferguson, Durand Jones, Emily King, Tank and the Bangas, Will Liverman, and symphonic suites of popular music.
