To advocate and provide financial support for the Safford City Graham County Library

The Friends of the Safford City Graham County Library have been in the business of supporting this community treasure for over 40 years. We currently have over 100 members who have a strong commitment to the library. We raise money through memberships, gift shop sales, fundraisers, donations and grants. In addition to providing financial support, we also host some library programs: Friends Night Out, the monthly adult program which boasts a variety of topics of interest for our community; The Open Book Club, which also meets monthly and welcomes all interested adult readers to the table to share their favorite pieces of literature; and Gila Valley Arts Council Performances, which supports our commitment to cultural literacy through internationally acclaimed performing artists. We have also added a new program this year; the English Language Learner Program, which offers a casual setting for patrons who wish to improve their level of English proficiency while having fun!. Our constant visible force is the Friends' Corner Gift Shop. It is located in the entrance of the library and operated completely by devoted volunteers. The Friends' Corner features a host of gift items, snacks and is best known for its homemade food items; brownies, fudge, banana jerky, banana bread, cookies, pies, etc. All are reasonably priced.
