HISTORY:
"OUR PAST, PRESENT AND FUTURE"

We were organized in September 1954, almost 63 years ago. A small group of women met in the Fauquier National Bank Building to organize the Women's Auxiliary of Fauquier Hospital. In order to fulfill our mission and commitment to support the Fauquier Hospital, patients and the community at large we partnered with the community and were creative in our fundraising efforts.

Fauquier Hospital received the majority of our contributions until their merger with Life Point in 2013 and became a for profit organization.  Our other contributions have included but not limited to; the Free Clinic, Lifeline and Kid Smart Program, Immunization Clinic, Veterans Memorial, Habitat for Humanity, First Night in Warrenton, After Prom activities at the local high schools and the Sexual Assault Victims Volunteers Initiative, initiated and sponsored the Junior Volunteer Program. Fauquier Hospital Auxiliary supported the start of the Volunteer Chaplaincy Program.

In 2015 Fauquier Hospital Auxiliary filed for and received a non-profit status.  We continued to award scholarships, funded the medical camp, and established a Liberty Cancer Care Fund to be used exclusively for cancer patients.  We continued in other areas of service to the community by providing a Gift Shop, Home Care Shop, Patient Gift Cart, Escort Service, Pet Therapy Program, jewelry and uniform sales. Each Christmas Fauquier Hospital was decorated by the auxiliary and volunteers.

Fauquier Hospital Auxiliary, Inc. continues to grow and embrace the opportunities to serve Fauquier Community. Our Board of Directors is energetic, creative and dedicated. As important as our fund raising efforts and our financial contributions have been, we feel that partnering and collaborating with other nonprofits is valuable to our community. \

In 2017 we established a Community Health Promotion Grant Program and have been awarding grants to other non-profit organizations that align with our mission.

2019 Fauquier Hospital Auxiliary, Inc. applied for a Medicare Certificate, this certificate would benefit our Care Boutique clients.  They will not have to pay out of pocket for merchandise and will be able to shop close to home. Currently they have to drive 50 to 100 miles to purchase their items. Due to COVID 2020 our application process was placed on hold which means we will have to reapply at additional expenses.
