Your Nuhorizons, Inc. (“Nuhorizons”) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that has a mission statement to provide programs and services to women victims of domestic violence as well as other disadvantaged individuals.  Nuhorizons is well positioned to implement and operate the Nuhorizons Redistribution Center.

 Covid-19 has produced a recession where those living at or below the poverty line have been affected the hardest and have all they can do to supply their families with life’s essentials (shelter, food, and clothing). Further those attempting to rebuild their lives and start over (such as victims of domestic violence, individuals recovering from substance abuse, returning citizens and the homeless) are further challenged.  Adding to the financial stress is higher cost of food and products as well as the higher utility bills due to spending more time at home.

Individuals leaving shelters, rehab centers, half-way houses and transitional living facilities in many cases do not have (nor the funds to acquire) basic products and everyday items.

 According to the most recently published reports from the U.S. Census Bureau website it is estimated that 124,547 individuals are living below the poverty line representing over 14% of the residents of Onondaga, Oswego, Madison, Oneida, and Herkimer counties.

 The Nuhorizons Redistribution Center Project will provide an assortment of FREE essential items to individuals in need throughout Central New York by working with other nonprofit organizations and through social media. 

 Nuhorizons has secured a financial commitment for start up funding , is finalizing our initial facility location and project the Project being operational in August,2021. 

 Nuhorizons is partnering with a national nonprofit organization  that has been a global leader in product philanthropy and purposeful giving that partners with socially responsible companies to source highly needed goods and distribute them through a network of diverse nonprofits such as Nuhorizons that support people in need. Nuhorizons will also work with  Central New York based return or distribution centers for retailers and seek direct donations that Nuhorizons will pick up that will eliminate the shipping expense back to ‘corporate’ as well as supporting those in need right here in our community.

Nuhorizons will partner with nonprofits throughout Central New York that work with individuals in need of the items that Nuhorizons will provide for free. This partnership will allow nonprofits to focus on providing their programs and services while Nuhorizons will provide available merchandise and items free of charge.
