United Way of the Bluegrass

Over 50,000 struggling families are struggling to make ends meet in Central Kentucky.  Nearly 21,000 children are living at or near poverty - right here in the Bluegrass. That is why the Big Bold Goal is so important. We want to ensure that all people living in Central Kentucky have the opportunity to live their best lives.  And we believe that poverty should never be a reason that a student doesn't succeed in or out of the classroom.

To meet the Big Bold Goal, United Way of the Bluegrass will focus on four key pillars of community and economic success: Basic Needs, School Readiness, Student Success and Financial Stability.

United Way of the Bluegrass is creating change by investing your dollars in core programs surrounding this mission.  We are working to harness the power of community partnerships and agencies, governments, educators, leaders - and valued members of our community just like you. Together, we can make a difference.

Together, we can achieve more than any of us could on our own. And there's power in that understanding. The power to make sure all children have access to a quality education and a chance to reach for the stars. The power to provide families with the opportunities to pull themselves up so they don’t have to choose between paying the bills or buying groceries. The power to ensure that no one in our community goes without critical basic needs like food, shelter and health care.

The Big Bold Goal is transforming lives and when more families find success - we all benefit as communities become stronger,  schools improve, neighborhoods become safer and Central Kentucky becomes an even better place to live, learn, work or raise a family.
