Un Mar De Colores

Un Mar de Colores seeks to inspire inclusivity in surfing by celebrating diversity and the very thing that connects us all, the ocean.

By sharing the ocean, we enter a space of interconnectedness. It is in this vast resource that we cultivate an inclusive, safe, accessible space for personal exploration and expression.  In celebrating these collective experiences in the ocean, Un Mar de Colores will bridge the socio-economic divide in the surfing community while allowing individuals to nurture confidence and cultivate a lifelong passion for ocean stewardship.

Many youth and children of color do not have access to the ocean, or the resources to enjoy it. There is also a disproportionate number of BIPOC surfers in the lineup which affects an individuals sense of belonging. We want to change that.                                    

Together we can change how we connect with community, understand our relationship to the ocean, and inspire potential in one another.  This project is an extraordinary opportunity to impact our community today, building changemakers, shifting culture, and ensuring the preservation of essential resources.
