Urban Alliance

At first glance, the needs in our communities may seem endless.

It is difficult to ignore the effects of poverty, broken relationships and systemic challenges that many of our neighbors face each and every day. When we focus on all of the issues at hand—from hunger to disease to homelessness and crime—perhaps it is easy to become overwhelmed and turn away. 

But, with every need there is a gem of opportunity within our community. There are assets. There are answers. 

In fact, over 130 programs are working hard to address community needs. From soup kitchens to clothing drives to health screenings and after-school programs, many have answered the call to help create opportunities for needs to be met and lives to be changed. 

The question we need to ask though, is: How do we leverage the existing strengths within our communities to reach the most people and create long-term impact? 

Here’s where Urban Alliance comes in. We have five initiatives–Beyond the Basics, Revitalize, Charis, Next Generation and Thrive–to partner with and equip a network of Christian churches and organizations to serve the community in deeper ways so that people who face challenges to meeting their needs will experience help and hope for a positive future.

We support our network with convening, training, toolkits, consultation, grants, supplies and volunteers to build stronger programs in the community.
