The Refuge House

WHO WE ARE

 The Refuge House is a ministry of Temple of Praise Church, birthed in September 2020. In addition, on have recently opened The House of Deliverance for women in March of 2024.

OUR MISSION

Our mission is to help men and women develop habits they can use each day to grow closer to God and draw strength from Him during their personal journey to recovery.  We integrate work therapy, prayer practices, bible study groups, and church fellowship as a spiritual component to help build a solid faith foundation needed to create not just healing, but a life change. The ultimate goal of our program is to give our residents a new beginning through building lasting skills as well as creating a personal relationship with Christ.

OUR FACILITIES

We currently have two housing facilities, The Refuge House for men and The House of Deliverance for women. Each home is capable of housing up to 16 people, providing each person their own bed, with shared community bathrooms, living room, dining room, and kitchen areas.

In the future, we have plans to remodel a transition home for those who graduate the program and prepare to make their way back into society.

WHAT WE PROVIDE

As a part of our program, we provide room and board, 3 daily meals, study materials, necessary hygiene products, and clothing to include undergarments, socks, and shoes. We also provide transportation as needed for medical care, jobs, etc.

PROGRAM TO SUCCESS

The men and women who check into the homes are entering into a voluntary 9-month program. Residents are introduced to the guidelines and rules of the home and are required to complete the following steps in order to graduate. 

TESTIMONIES

George was recently in The House of Refuge. He is now set free from his past and is experiencing freedom in Christ thanks to the program.

JP is a graduate of the program and is currently the house manager at The Refuge House. He uses his life experience to help lead and encourage the residents of the home.

Steve is the first graduate since the opening of The Refuge House. He expresses the need for Christ in his life and has seen an amazing transformation through this program.
