The Sparks Piranhas Swim Team was established in 1974 as a 501(c)3 non-profit organization to promote interest in swimming through sponsorship of Sparks’ only competitive swim team.  This is accomplished by emphasizing the highest standard of sportsmanship and physical development amongst our community’s youth.

The Sparks Piranhas work hard to both develop as competitive swimmers and develop as responsible, positive young men and women.  The Piranhas do this not only in the pool but by giving back to the Sparks community.  The team regularly holds Community Service Days, recently helping beautify Alf Sorenson and the Sparks Senior Center.

Service is the key to humility, character, and integrity.  It is found in supporting one another and giving back.

Involvement in a swimming program also goes hand-in-hand with academic success.  From an article by Linda Hass on Swimming and Academic Success, “The results of data show that swimmers are among the top performing students when it comes to academic eligibility, retention and graduation,” the latter being a struggle Nevada is unfortunately well known for.

We can’t make this happen without your support.  We look to our generous community to help support our young athletes on their journey to swimming and life success.  Sparks Piranhas want every child interested in swimming to have the opportunity to join the team, but facilities, equipment and travel for meets can be expensive.

Your generous donation will go directly towards helping our young athletes!
