Sheplusplus

A nonprofit organization

she++ works to empower underrepresented groups in technology by dismantling the negative stereotypes surrounding the industry.  We aim to dispel the idea that computer science is not a career for women and minorities by rebranding what it means to be a technologist.

This rebranding is accomplished through outreach to high school and college students. We let them experience first hand how computer science is about problem-solving, impact, and the ability to harness the power of every-day technologies, and subsequently, transform them into advocates for our movement. We work with the next generation of technologists, building self-confidence and encouraging individuality in the classroom and the workplace, which contributes to a more inclusive and diverse technology culture.  As a team of college students, we are best equipped to create this generation.

Founded in 2012, she++ began as Stanford's first conference on women in technology. Since then, she++ has expanded to a number of initiatives: the she++ Documentary, the #include Fellowship Program for high school students, the she++ College Ambassador Program, and a series of online campaigns such as the she++ Challenge and  Reshape Tech. she++ seeks to create community and momentum for women in tech as well as to spark conversation on the barriers women face in tech in an effort to reshape the environment for female technologists.
